Beat the Bank

The stereo at work is very finicky because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. You have to hit the little power knob at a certain angle and everything. A major brainwave hit and we thought to use the power button on the remote control-but sometimes that doesn't even work. When it does work, we gather around the speakers (if you are on duty you just casually step back from lifeguarding right at the pools edge in the middle of the deck and shimmy over to stand under the speaker) to hear Beat the Bank on C100. This is a very exciting show where you call in and you have all these vaults to open one at a time, and you get a new balance of money from each vault, but you have to make sure that you stop in time for you to avoid a vault that has the sirens (I think it is supposed to be the bank catching you or something) because then you lose everything. I think it is a wise idea to stop around $300...but today one person made it to $500 and stopped there after opening like 7 vaults. When they opened the vaults he could have had if he continued, it went to $1000, $5000, and then $25000! Crazy. We tried calling in later today, and must have dialled the number like 30 times. We didn't win. Actually, we didn't even get through. We were bitter when the woman who got through said she had played Beat the Bank before and lost...so this was her second time. Some of us haven't had a first, lady. That's ok, we will keep trying until we win! And the daytime staff at Sackville Sports Stadium will win some extreme bucks someday! :) And then I'll find a way to keep all of the winnings for myself. Just kidding, I'll share.
