Trent's MSN History

John talked to Heidi, JR talked to Jessie B
I ate my nachos
but I didn't mind

up for some leading questions?
I'm gonna ask questions that lead the conversation in the direction that I want it to go...

extreme feelings correspond to an extreme person

if a girl made me food, I'd talk to her as much as she wanted

I'm pretty unhealthy

you've got boy powers
the powers work this way
you go up to a boy and say "do this for me"
and he does it
powers require developing

annoyances are meant to be verbalized

that's what soul friends are for

what's wrong with taking the occasional drink on the weekend when I'm a recovering alchoholic?

if I called you a "fox's mother" would you be more or less offended than if I called you a "foxy mama"

ah, the flirtatious banter of a first encounter

of course, it was a revenge snuggle
how old are you again?

where did you learn your logic, Jessie?

Jessie, I mean this is the nicest possible way
everyone knows that you're needy
needy in a normal and completely dependent sort of way
guys dig needy, though

there's such a thing as the "Needy Hot Scale"
it's a measure of how hot you have to be to make up for how needy you are
well, in light of the last 3 days, either get less needy, or get more hot

Jessie:
I've gotta get clean, time to stop smelling like a campfire
Trent:
God can make anyone clean, Jessie
that was a joke
well, not really cause He can
but anyway

Trent:
ok, 400,000 people in halifax
49% are guys, that's 196,000
52% are in a relationship
that's 94,080 left
about 21% are in your age range (which we'll say is 20-27)
10% are gay
that's 17,781
approximately 45.38% of people in HRM are protestant
that's 8,069
and girls generally turn away 95 guys out of 100 for Character/physical flaws
Jessie:
LOL no they don't!!
Trent:
yes, they do
trust me
that leaves.... 403
now, if you're shooting for guys who have a thing for peg legs..... you'd be lucky if there's one in there
do you have any ethnic preferences?
if you were looking for a french guy, you'd only have 72 guys to choose from
I know how you girls love your hot Parisians...

A Complied List of Phobias

Location: Kearney Lake after a solid game of Grounders.
Contributers: 2 girls. 2 guys.

"Fears? Oh, I have SO many!"

1. Heights
2. Bugs
3. Crawling things
4. Small animals
5. Large animals
6. Fire
7. Water
8. Really deep water
9. Fast moving things
10. Slow moving things
11. Big trucks
12. Large spaces

Ah, Grade 6's...

FAV KIDS
1. Alex.
He can't say "ch".
His friends finally discovered this about him during a meal.
I had to stop the repetitive back and forth of:

Boys (in unison)- "Alex, say 'chicken'!!"
Alex- "Shhhhhicken. Guys, I say it the same way you do!!"
Boys laugh until they can hardly breathe.

2. Massimo.
Massimo is sensitive.
I feel for this adorable, Italian kid.
He broke a window today by knocking on it and felt really bad.
The place is ancient.

Boy (impatiently)- "Massimo, you AREN'T a murderer."
Massimo (in a soft and pained voice)- "I really feel like one. I've killed so many worms today..."

3. Mary.
She became my BFF 15 minutes after I arrived at the school.
I have no idea why she doesn't have any friends.
Friendly, friendly girl.
A teacher told me she can be really rude.
I was looking forward to that.
Unfortunately, she was nice to me and the other children the entire time.

FAV COMMENTS ABOUT ME
1. Jessie, you look like a gym teacher of ours once. Except your face.
2. Are you a vegetarian? I dunno, you just look like one.
3. You're pretty.
4. You're awesome.
5. It's okay guys. Jessie knows about our hidden candy. She's cool.
6. Do you have kids?

This Song Is Me

I don't know what I've done
Or if I like what I've begun
But something told me to run
And honey, you know me, it's all or none

There were sounds in my head
Little voices whispering
That I should go and this should end
Oh, and I found myself listening

'Cos I dont know who I am, who I am without you
All I know is that I should
And I don't know if I could stand another hand upon you
All I know is that I should
'Cos she will love you more than I could
She who dares to stand where I stood

See, I thought love was black and white
That it was wrong or it was right
But you ain't leaving without a fight
And I think I am just as torn inside

I won't be far from where you are, if ever you should call
You meant more to me than anyone I ever loved at all
But you taught me how to trust myself, and so I say to you
This is what I have to do

Shaun Zwicker on my heartache:
Shaun: Just stay away from the bottle.
Jessie: Oh, I will. I'm not a big drinker to begin with. I am planning on suntanning today.
Shaun: That's a good vice. Skin cancer your pain away...

Jessie opens Joshes door.

Jessie stops. Joshes music is playing.

My Favourite Kid at Work...

7. Bobs at other children.

8. Nudges balls on the edge of the pool deck so they drop on to the heads of kids in the preschool classes.

I think his trickiness is contagious.

There was a man watching his kids swim last nite. He was sitting near the door to the Aquatic Office. He started leaning back against the window and fell asleep. I had to go in the office. I walked quietly over, giggled to myself, went in the office and slammed the office door shut. He woke up.

Admiration

I was never a kid who really had any major role models that I wanted to be like. Well, that's not true. I had Hailey, my babysitter. She introduced me to Muchmusic and Days of Our Lives. She was so cool. She'd tell me all about the boys she was dating. Oh, and I really liked Harriet the Spy. I would write funny things down in a notebook...until my childhood friend found out that I wrote mean things about her in it.

As I've gotten older, I have a couple people I really admire.

1. Deb Wong
Deb is amazing. She is an excellent listener, she always has great advice and has never been preachy or judgemental-while pointing me to what God would desire in my life. Her trust in God's faithfulness during the recent months blows my mind. I don't even understand it, but I thank God for it.

2. Mrs. Symmonds-White
She pretty much has what I want in life. A job in a nice high school. Teaching Biology. She's pretty and fun and her students like her. A husband. A kid. Yup.

3. the man at the pool
He is my hero. He had a stroke awhile back and is limp on one side of his body. He comes in to the pool a couple mornings a week. By himself. Wheels out on a motorized scooter. Pulls himself down the stairs really slowly. He won't accept help from anyone down the stairs. I tried. Then he swims side stroke, good side up, for around an hour. He is incredible.

Favourite songs right now: Sweetest Girl - Akon & Co. :), Inevitable - Anberlin

My Favourite Kid at Work...

1. is a pretty bad swimmer

2. randomly licks his armpit

3. tries to karate chop the other kids in his swimming class

4. sometimes pretends he can't feel his legs

5. swims over other kids on purpose

6. swims in to adults climbing the ladder- on purpose (I know it is on purpose because he laughs before he does it and keeps swimming even after he makes bodily contact)

I love Tuesday nites at the pool. Seriously. I don't know why I like this kid, but I really do.

This makes him my fourth fav kid in life.

All Aboard!

I may be the canoe instructor at camp. Kids. Canoeing. In the ocean. I know the basics of canoeing, and I love a challenge. Actually, I don't love a challenge. At all. But, I really do love this challenge. I've got this canoe business sooo covered.

I came across something wonderful while I was studying for my Can Lit exam yesterday. I read this poem for the first time recently because I didn't go to class that day. This poem captures my canoeing sentiments perfectly! Pauline Johnson understands me. I've highlighted my fav parts. Take a peek at the blue bits near the end. Totally gonna make the kids sit in a circle and have a little poetry reading before the first canoe lesson ;).

Jessie: the fun, carefree, independent, dangerous, and CULTURED one.
"The Song My Paddle Sings" - Pauline Johnson

West wind, blow from your prairie nest,
Blow from the mountains, blow from the west
The sail is idle, the sailor too;
O! wind of the west, we wait for you.
Blow, blow!
I have wooed you so,
But never a favour you bestow.
You rock your cradle the hills between,
But scorn to notice my white lateen.

I stow the sail, unship the mast:
I wooed you long but my wooing's past;
My paddle will lull you into rest.
O! drowsy wind of the drowsy west,
Sleep, sleep,
By your mountain steep,
Or down where the prairie grasses sweep!
Now fold in slumber your laggard wings,
For soft is the song my paddle sings.

August is laughing across the sky,
Laughing while paddle, canoe and I,
Drift, drift,
Where the hills uplift
On either side of the current swift.

The river rolls in its rocky bed;
My paddle is plying its way ahead;
Dip, dip,
While the water flip
In foam as over their breast we slip.

And oh, the river runs swifter now;
The eddies circle about my bow.
Swirl, swirl!
How the ripples curl
In many a dangerous pool awhirl!

And forward far the rapids roar,
Fretting their margin for evermore.
Dash, dash,
With a mighty crash,
They seethe, and boil, and bound, and splash.

Be strong, O paddle! be brave, canoe!
The reckless waves you must plunge into.
Reel, reel.
On your trembling keel,
But never a fear my craft will feel.

We've raced the rapid, we're far ahead!
The river slips through its silent bed.
Sway, sway,
As the bubbles spray
And fall in tinkling tunes away.

And up on the hills against the sky,
A fir tree rocking its lullaby,
Swings, swings,
Its emerald wings,
Swelling the song that my paddle sings.
